SNP COMMENT ON SHADOW CABINET ELECTION
Commenting on the announcement of the 19 Labour MPs who will form the
shadow cabinet, SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson MP said Labour
had lost its Scottish heart.
Mr Robertson said:
“Labour has clearly lost its Scottish heart, indeed, there hasn’t been
this few Scots MPs in a Labour cabinet for at least twenty years.
“So much for a ‘new generation for change’, this is more like a class
reunion with the same old faces from the last discredited Brown
administration back together again. With only five members of the
shadow cabinet having actually backed Ed Miliband for the leadership,
it is no wonder Jack Straw described Labour’s system as barking mad.”
