Responding to David Cameron's latest confused outburst opposing Scottish independence, but also opposing a referendum on the issue, despite saying he look forward to campaigning in an independence referendum SNP MSP Alasdair Allan said:
"The reality is that Scotland achieving economic and financial powers, so that we can grow the economy and support employment, is the only alternative to a dismal decade of Westminster cuts. And that is why the essential link between constitutional progress and economic prosperity for Scotland will be at the heart of the Scottish election campaign - with a referendum the only means of achieving these vital powers.
"David Cameron's outburst is typical Tory hypocrisy. The Tories don't have a leg to stand on because they oppose the right of the people to choose Scotland's future. If the Tories want to campaign in a referendum, they should support a referendum - otherwise their position is hypocritical and absurd.
"The Tories - along with Labour and the Lib Dems - are working together to deliver a referendum on the future of Wales, yet in Scotland the Unionist parties are ganging up to deny the people of Scotland a vote, which renders David Cameron's position ridiculous.
